Manager Jiro Has Megacolon

Manager Jiro is very energetic, but as he gets older, problems have started to appear. His poop is hard and just won’t come out. Isn’t it tough when you strain but nothing happens? Watching him struggle like that is somehow both pitiful and irresistibly cute. Sometimes he even makes these little sounds like “Uagahyan~” without forming real words, and I can’t help but laugh. Poor thing, though.

On top of that, when he can’t finish pooping, his bottom must feel itchy or uncomfortable, because he ends up dragging it along. The wavy trails he leaves behind honestly look like “poop art.” It’s really a problem. I’d much prefer if art stayed on a canvas, thank you very much.

Back in July, no matter how much he strained, nothing would come out. In the end, he pushed so hard he started vomiting. We finally had to take him to the doctor, where they gave him an enema and removed it. He had such a solemn look on his face—it was hard not to laugh. Poor thing, though.

The diagnosis was megacolon, where part of the intestine becomes enlarged and waste easily builds up. Now, with daily medication and tummy massages, he manages to go about once a week. The tricky part is adjusting the dosage—too much, and it leaks out. Sometimes I find little surprises dropped around the house. I’m sure one day I’ll step in it by accident.

But he’s just too cute, so I forgive him.
