Recommended Accessories Featuring Lace
I’ve been creating accessories using lace for quite some time now.
The obi ornament (netsuke) in the photo above combines a flower-shaped motif with resin and is embroidered with Czech beads. This piece was made quite a while ago, and I recently brought it back to the store. Seeing it again, I felt nostalgic and thought, “It’s still adorable.”
Back when I first made it, I hesitated, thinking it might be too large. However, nowadays, large earrings aren’t so uncommon, so I believe it would look lovely as earrings just as it is. Plus, since it’s made of lace, it’s lightweight.
With that in mind, today I’d like to introduce a few items that incorporate lace.
Hairpin (Kanzashi)
This kanzashi features a lace flower adorned with howlite, creating a charming dangling decoration. It’s a “removable kanzashi,” meaning the decorative part can be detached, allowing you to replace the wooden stick if it breaks.
Earrings
These earrings combine ring-shaped lace with freshwater pearls, resulting in a delicate and beautiful design. Though they are large, they remain lightweight.
Hair Tie
This hair tie showcases a butterfly-shaped ornament with a flower-shaped lace dangling beneath it—a delightful combination of flowers and butterflies.
What do you think? Accessories featuring lace have a unique charm.
I’m considering gradually expanding the variety of lace items in the future.
