Our New Manager Has Arrived
Our very first manager was Mikeko.
One day, I found her outside my house, meowing “meow, meow,” and brought her in. That’s how she started working with us. She was such a lovely cat.
In my mind, a “manager” is someone friendly to everyone, and of course, smooth and welcoming when dealing with customers. That’s the image I have.

He was friendly and unique—perfect for the position.

And now that Jiro has retired, the question is… can the remaining three cats take on the role?
Well… probably not.

The three who are not quite manager material
These three are all former stray cats, and somehow they get along really well.
But they seem to like other cats more than people, which makes them less suited for the role of manager.

Ta-da!
And then, we welcomed a new cat from a volunteer friend—Shion.
He’s only eight months old, but already weighs 5.2 kg.
Unlike our previous cats, he was separated from his mother early on and was lovingly raised by a milk volunteer.
Maybe that’s why he’s incredibly affectionate.
He’s very clingy and friendly, and it made me realize—“Oh, so this is what having a pet is like.”
He feels completely different from all the cats we’ve had before.
…I think I’m already destined for pet loss.
I used to think pet loss depended on the person, but now I’m starting to think—it depends on the cat.
I was amazed at how quickly he opened his heart to me—just within a few hours.
I’ve been told I can change his name, so I’m currently thinking about it.
For now, “Taro” is the leading candidate.
