Kumazasa bamboo hat made

Kumazasa bamboo hat made

It is not a straw hat, but a Kumazasa hat. It looks like a straw hat. The yarn I bought last year to make a hat for myself was Japanese paper made from kumazasa bamboo.

 Yarn made of kumazasa bamboo

This Japanese paper yarn is made from kumazasa bamboo, which grows only in colonies at altitudes of 1,000 meters or more. Kumazasa's natural antibacterial, deodorant, and UV-cut properties keep the hat clean, and the water-repellent finish applied at the time of dyeing repels water and dirt. The water-repellent effect will gradually fade away.

Kumazasa bamboo as an illustration

Kumazasa bamboo is a common sight when walking down the street, but if you look closely, you will see that the leaves are bicolor, and I have been curious about this for a long time.  It has a kind of Japanese atmosphere, and I like it.

 I have designed cloth before.

Right? You can see how much I like Kumazasa. But I still plan to change the color of the cloth a little more and make it again.

Now, back to the story.

My Kumazasa Hat

Isn't it cute? I put a bolo tie on it.

My Kumazasa Hat
This is a hat pin I made a long time ago. It is called “Violet Series”. A long time ago, a buyer of a Korean jewelry store bought it, and the leading girl wore it at a presentation of a Korean TV drama. The other actor was Hyun Bin. I have a picture of it. I have a picture of it somewhere.
This is a very old hat pin and the color is faded, but when I went out to walk Ron (our dog) the other day, a lady in the neighborhood said to me, “What a nice brooch!
When I giggled and said, “Well, it's a little old, but I can't throw it away...” she said, “That's a good feeling, it matches the hat so well...”.

I guess that's how it is. It's something like this, and I'm certainly attached to it. Our products are really like that, because sometimes we get requests to repair jewelry that are more than 10 years old. I wonder if everyone is like that. I'm glad to hear that.

This one is by my mother.

Last year around the same time, my mother said, “I want to make it, too. Here is an excerpt from that article. ↓

Around the same time I started making hats, my mother said, “I want to make one too,” so we started at the same time. And after that, she said, “I want to make more hats. She said it was good exercise for her brain because she counted the stitches, and moreover, she enjoyed making more than anything...

My mother also wears hats to walk our dog, and they are so well received that just as she was taking orders from neighbors to make hats, she broke her wrist last October, and because of Lon (our dog), she had to stop making hats for a while.

So, I wondered if she would ever stop making them again. But after her fracture healed, she began to make them again.

With pin brooch

I asked my mother to make this item for TAMARUSAN. The set includes a pin brooch and a hat pin. It would be cute if it has some kind of decoration.

If you have any requests for sizes, etc., I am sure she can make it for you. Please contact us.
